Not Working? Be Different!


The process of doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.

This is how a lot of people go about their lives.  They repeat the same things hoping for a different outcome, and the truth is… it never happens.

If you are unhappy about the way something has worked out in your life, change it.  Don’t keep going through life, making no changes, hoping that change will happen.

This is especially true when it comes to training.

I see and hear of people all the time who are trying to achieve something, and week after week, month after month they continue to do the same things, making absolutely no progress.  This truly is insane.

Conditioning for Football

There is really the only way to become better conditioned to play football.

And many coaches and athletes get it wrong.

During the summer and the beginning of the season you spend a great deal of time running sprints, suicides, stairs, ladders, long distance runs, and any other myriad of  exhausting work in effort to “get into shape.” The idea is simple enough… when these drills get easier you will be able to play longer without getting winded.

I myself spent many hours doing these exact conditioning drills over my playing career.  In high school we would almost always end practice with some kind of running drills. Something that would make us nearly collapse on the field.  We even had a day, the week before our first game, where we would hold a scrimmage, varsity vs. junior varsity followed by anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour of various conditioning drills.
